Have you ever answered the phone, and the first thing someone asked was, “what do you charge?” Have you ever had someone walk in and tour your facility, and then they start asking. “what do you charge?” There’s a feeling on the inside of you, and you’re thinking to yourself, “Aw, they worked a minimum wage job, so they can’t really afford it.” Have you had this feeling in your stomach like, “I’m so afraid to tell my prices. Let me hurry up and think of a way to offer a discount”? If you have experienced this, trust me, you’re normal. This is truly what happens in the mind of childcare business owners, because not only do we love caring for kids, but we love helping people.
I want to give you three steps today to help you stay true to yourself to keep helping people and to feel good about your love for working with kids, but you’ll also discover how “charge what you’re worth”. Just recently during my quite time, I read that most successful businesses are built off of systems. When you discover how to put the right systems in your childcare business, then you’ll be on your way to being able to create the right type of profits that you want in your business. I teach my clients a system to be able to feel good about what they offer in their business and to also close the deal.
My Most Profitable System
One of the most important systems that I’ve developed is my Potty Helper system. My Potty Helper system is a guarantee that I give parents stating that their children will be potty trained in my program in 30 days or less. Just recently, we had a concern from a parent who wasn’t quite happy with our guarantee. Instead of me feeling defeated or feeling as if I wasn’t charging them the right price or that I needed to discount or give them something free, I went right back to my system. I got into my system, and I turned it around for an even more profitable event. I decided that I would host a potty-training party for my parents that were in that classroom, and this potty-training party turned out fantastic.
We were able to go into different chapters of the book and do a live reading with our parents, explaining to them what we do in our program and how their participation would help seal the deal. Because I had a system in place, I not only was able to talk about my potty training book, but I was able to offer the same system to parents so they can use it at home. I was also able to seal my brand even more in the minds of my client, because of this system.
This system not only worked for my parents, but I utilized the same system in training my staff. That’s right! I want my staff to understand the behind-the-scenes of everything that our potty training system consists of, whether it is knowing how to sell our potty training services, how to talk about it to our ideal client or understanding how to train parents to help them get the kids potty trained at home. I always give my toddlers, Potty Helper, the potty training system, because I realize that if they don’t have a potty training system to follow, and they don’t understand my system, the product that we produce, which is the children being trained in 30 days, won’t be as successful. Nevertheless, if you are going to going to build a successful business, you must have systems in place.
Number two, to also charge what you’re worth, you have to be able to show your clients what you’re worth.
You have to show them a desired result. Discover more about what your parents desire from you, just like I discovered. I discovered that a lot of parents enrolled their children in my program so they could have their children potty trained. As a matter of fact, when we hosted our first billboard about being the only childcare program with a 30-day system, do you want to know what happened to our enrollment? It skyrocketed. I’m not a racist, but my program is not as diversified as some, but when we did this launch, our program became 40 to 50% more diversified. The parents were coming from everywhere. Some parents just wanted our potty-training services for those 30 days and didn’t want to enroll for the full year. We were excited that we were able to generate more profits, because I was able to charge premium rates to those parents just for a 30-day contract. We’ve even had parents just stop in to buy the book. As you can see, being able to offer your services, based on a system, and also being able to charge what you’re worth has truly created a phenomenal effect in my business.
Your third step of being able to charge what your worth is for you to think of more ways to create profits in your business. So many of you are leaving money on the table, because you don’t understand how profits truly work in the childcare industry. What I’ve done is I’ve created the 30 Days to Creating More Profits Childcare Business kit, where I provide you with audio and I provide you with the workbook on how to create these profits that I’ve seen happen in my business, and the steps so that you can make it happen in your own business. You’re going to love it! You’re going to thank me for it. To find out more, be sure to log on right now to www.theprofitmakerkit.com.
