Have you ever noticed that the childcare industry is a business like no other? It’s busy, nothing is the same every day. There’s always something new to do, achieve, learn, delegate, check, approve, buy and just plain ole’ manage. But when you love what you do, it’s all in a days work!
For me, I manage over 150 children per day, two childcare sites, 30 employees, 10 VIP coaching clients, and over 120 childcare business owners who attend my live events and an active nanny agency. With so much on my plate I must maintain a system for order.
You may be thinking that I’m busy because I have so much going on out side of my childcare programs but I must say that my success is due to the knowing how to achieve success in my childcare locations so that I can step out and do more.
Have A Plan
1.What is your plan for your childcare? Do you have a yearly glimpse as to what you want to achieve within your childcare programs. If not, take a moment and create what I call a master calendar. What this calendar does is it helps you lay out in writing what you plan to achieve throughout the year. Having a plan is the best way to know where you are headed. Take a moment and make a plan for your recurring activities that will happen in your childcare without fail. Items such as preschool graduations, open houses, back to school marketing, report cards, assessments, staff meetings, social media, bill collections and important dates. Set your calendar up this way to help you create a path of what’s important and for you to plan around that.
Use A Trigger System
2. Use Sunday’s As A Day To Make Weekly Plans With A Trigger System- Don’t wait until your Monday to think about what you will need to do. Start making a plan on your Sunday night so that you’re fresh and ready for your FULL WEEK. I use the Trigger System from my Task Manager to help me stay mentally accountable and on top of what I need to do during my business day. I’ve never been a CEO of anyone’s company therefore figuring out how to be the best CEO that my childcare business needed wasn’t as easy until I started operating from a Trigger System. I’ve assigned my days with task. For example, when Wednesday starts I know what I need to achieve on a Wednesday. I title that WORK IT WEDNESDAY. It’s my day when I take action.I’ll explain a few things that I do, on Wednesday’s I work with my team, I keep my schedule clear so that I can run errands, I conduct research for different areas in my business and I send my my email blast titled the Work It Wednesday. Bust Through Barriers and Set Backs
3. Getting anything done in business will require some guts and some FIGHT! Achieving more in your childcare business can seem like you’re fighting against gravity, and you are. It’s easier to just let your day happen especially if you’ve been doing business a certain way for years. But this way is allowing you to take control of your day and get more done. Every day won’t be easy but it must and can get done. When you learn how to fight through and not complain and break down. You’ll see things through a clearer lens and you’ll begin to accomplish more. That’s what it’s all about, achieving more in your childcare business.
One thing that I have learned is that you can want something all day. But until you make up your mind to do what it takes, you’ll still be wanting. As a matter of fact. Some of you have already heard this saying before but ask yourself, is your life any different now then from the first time when you heard that saying?
Information comes to change you and your situation. That’s why I needed to give myself information because I wanted change, therefore I created the Task Management System. It feeds me the information/outline that I need to plan and accomplish more with my week.
When you accomplish your plans it feels so good because you realize how hard the fight was. It takes discipline to bust through barriers. If it didn’t everyone would be on point in their business and operating more like a CEO. However, the truth of the matter is, they are not. Why? Because they never took the time to manage their business from a management system.
So why am I so successful? Because I plan out my week by using the Task Management System. This is a great tool for childcare business owners, no matter what level you are on. If you want to get more done and be the best at what you do, be sure to get yourself a Task Manager today!
