For those of you who are excited about knowing what I’ve done to include back-to-school training for my teachers in my business model, here is the tea!
So I always teach you guys to ensure you have your yearly operational calendar. Within your yearly operational calendar, there are what we call departments, you have your Enrollment Department, your Parent Department, your Staff Department, and your Professional Development Department. And then you have about seven other departments that you have to make sure that’s included on your yearly calendar.
#1 Have A Master Task List
I call them Master Task List like it’s a master task list of things that need to get done in your organization. So with that being said, a part of the Master Task List is your Teacher Training and Professional Growth and Development. Now these things are serious. So don’t take it lightly about having this department planned out in your organization.
So on your yearly calendar, you’re going to indicate the training that you want to have conducted for your teachers. A part of that training is to ensure that you have back-to-school training on that list. Now that back-to-school training on your list should be done at least 30 to 60 days before school starts.
#2 What Topics To Train Your Childcare Teachers About?
Now what do you train about? That’s the key. Now, that’s when you have to have an operational mindset.
Your operational mindset is what’s going to clue you in on what you need to solve, improve, and make sure that it operates based on systems.
So here are some of the things that I thought about in my business that made a world of difference.
Having topics like these will improve the overall operations of your company, as you can tell, it’s so important that your systems are interconnected one with the other.
When they are interconnected, it makes planning your teacher growth and development systems easy in your program.
Therefore with your back-to-school training happening at least 30-60 days before actual back to school. You’ll have enough time to train on those particular topics.
What Should Your Teacher Training Methods Consist Of?
Your training can consist of:
Hands-on Learning within your classroom
PowerPoint Presentations
PLUS one-on-one
Have Fun Training Your Team
But whatever you do, DON’T RUSH by poor planning.
Here’s a great tool to use to help you train your teachers..
The classroom in a box! It’s a powerful tool to help you train teachers using a FUN game that provides the essential classroom framework for success!
Well, all right, I hope that you will now use a yearly operational calendar. I hope that by now you will think about what’s the operational mindset, I hope that you will start planning for back to school 30 days in advance to train your team on what’s going to help them open your classroom and close your classroom successfully, and work with your new students.
