WHAT SYSTEMS DO YOU NEED IN YOUR CHILDCARE?

Taking Control Of Your Business

Hey There JumpStart Boss!

This is your coach, Andrea Dickerson here with IOwnADaycare.com, and welcome to today’s blog post! I’m excited about today’s blog post because I am going to share with you four essential ways for you to take control of your business and build a successful empire.

So many childcare business owners find themselves frustrated, not getting things done, going through the same cycle again and again, wasting their day doing small minimal things, and not focusing on the big project.

So today, I want to give you four of my strategies that I have lived or researched and applied to my life. I have found that these steps are essential for those of us who are focused on growing our company.

What I want you to do…

Number One Recognize The Need To Shift

Recognize that you have a need to shift. Whenever you look at your goals, dreams, and vision that you have set for yourself, and you haven’t accomplished them, and  you get in the place where you believe in yourself enough but you never take the moment to move forward, then that is a sign that you have to take action by making a list and asking yourself what is it that I need to do in order to shift?

One thing I know is that no direction leads to procrastination. The moment that you get direction for your life, it is easier for you to get things done.

Number 2  Add Value To Your Time

Adding value to your time is a simple formula that I learned from Chris Murray with Childcare Marketing Solutions. I remember being on a call with her, and we were discussing about adding value to our time. To add value to your time, what you do is delegate tasks to individuals around you who’s salary compensate time for the task. You work on task in which are the highest, income producing task in your company.

For instance, you all know that I am very big about creating systems in your business. When you create systems in your business, you definitely add more value to your company then if you were the person doing it all yourself. Therefore, you would hire someone to do the tasks where hourly rate would compensate their skill set and experience. Then you would, as CEO and business owner, work on task that would produce top dollar, thousands or millions, and systems are the beginning to those thousands and millions.

You may say you are worth, as the CEO, a thousand dollars each day or five thousand dollars or even ten thousand dollars each day in your company. I know that may sound different from a regular childcare coach advice because you may be thinking how can I be making that kind of money in one day. Well, now is the time for you to add it to your wish list to be making this type of money in your business in one single day and start writing tasks that you could do to get your business on track so that you can see a vision on how to generate that type of money.

Number 3 Use Technology

There is so much more that you can do when you understand the tools that you need to use in order to get the task done. Technology is one of the big pieces of the puzzle to help you get things done, but you must be a disciplined person to pick it up, use it, create a system that can be used over and over again. Technology  helps you communicate faster, relieve yourself from having to say the same thing over and over again, allows you to bring on your voice recorder and bring on someone that can type, allow you to speak to parents over the internet or enroll clients without having to be at your childcare physically walking into your location. There are so many ways that you could use technology to take control of your business and get more done.

The next step is a big one. Most childcare business owners do not do this effectively and I am guilty of being one myself and that is delegation.

Number 4 Delegation

Are you the only person on your team that knows how to do things exactly how you want it done? If so, pardon me my sister or my brother, but you are in trouble. You want to empower the people around you to do the things in your company that you otherwise could do but don’t have the time to do. Delegate your tasks to your team evenly.

The art of delegation is to have a weekly Sunday plan. I believe that if you plan on Sundays or Mondays that it will empower you to have a meeting with your team to give them the direction of the tasks that you want done, and how you want it done. Your team needs direction so I believe that when you utilize checklists, tools, and task management programs, that it helps you to get more done.
